Eerlier this week the Devarenne Lab attended the annual ASPB Plant Biology Meeting held in Montreal, Canada. Graduate student Incheol Yeo presented his poster on the regulation of Threonine Deaminase 2 to control JA-Ile production in tomato in response to Pseudomonas syringae. See poster 1000-113 on the Plant Biology 2018 poster abstract page for more details.
Devarenne Lab Attending Plant Biology 2018 in Montreal
The Devarenne Lab will be attending the ASPB Plant Biology 2018 meeting in Montreal, July 14-18. Come see the poster of graduate student Incheol Yeo, poster # 1000-113, detailing his studies about the role of Threonine Deaminase 2 in the defense response of tomato against the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae.
New Paper Published Describing New Tomato SnRK1 alpha-Subunit
Today the Devarenne Lab had a paper published in Biochimica et Biophysica Acta – Protein & Proteomics describing the identification and in vitro characterization of a new α-subunit of the tomato SnRK1 complex called SnRK1.2. The study characterizes the differences in kinase activity for SnKR1.2 as compared to the previously characterized α-subunit SnRK1.1. These studies were led by former graduate student Dongyin Su.
Dan Browne Wins Second Place in Entreprenuer Competition
Today Devarenne Lab graduate student Dan Browne participated in the TAMU Aggie Pitch competition where students present their ideas for start up companies. Dan won second place with his presentation on his ideas for Botryonyx LLC., a company for integrating systems for carbon capture, water treatment, and algal biomass production. Congratulations Dan!
