The Devarenne Lab had a spring yard party on March 28 to enjoy the nice weather. We played the Swedish yard game Kubb, smashed pinatas, drank tequila, and had lots of great food to eat.

1st International Conference on Algal Biomass, Biofuels & Bioproducts
Taylor Weiss attended the 1st International Conference on algal Biomass, Biofuels & Bioproducts in St. Louis where he presented his work on Botryococcus braunii. Look at him all grown up and stuff!
Beach Outing
The Devarenne Lab gets some sun! For this year’s Spring outing the Devarenne lab took a short trip to Surfside Beach, TX. Lab members got the chance to play Kubb, swim, sunbathe, and get a taste of the great local food.
Door Decorating Contest
The Devarenne lab entered the Halloween door decorating contest organized by the Biochemistry Department benefitting the departmental flower fund. This year’s theme was an homage to the movie The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Our spookie design ranked in the top five themes in the department.
ASPB Annual Meeting
This year the Devarenne Lab attended the ASPB meeting in Minneapolis, MN.
