NSF REU Summer Students

Ben Morse

(summer 2012)

Ben was our NSF REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) student for the summer of of 2011.

Ben MorseHe came from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Ben carried out research to clone the squalene epoxidase gene from the B race of B. braunii.

Currently (as of 03.28.2018), Ben is a graduate student in the lab of Margy Glasner in the Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics at Texas A&M University .

    Daniel McArthur

    Daniel was our NSF REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) student for the summer of of 2011.

    Daniel McArthurHe came from the University of Southern Mississippi. He worked on the characterization of methyltransferase genes from B. braunii responsible for hydrocarbon biosynthesis.

      Laura McElroy

      Laura was our NSF REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) student for the summer of of 2010.

      Laura McElroyShe came from Grinnell College in Iowa. She worked with Taylor Weiss trying to obtain the actin genes from the A and L races of B. braunii for phylogenetic analysis.

      Laura is currently (as of 03.28.2018) a Master of Social Work graduate student at New Mexico State University.

        Stephanie English

        Stephanie was our NSF REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) student for the summer of of 2009.

        Stephanie EnglishShe came from Temple University in Philadelphia. She worked on analyzing the interaction of Adi3 with an transcription factor identified by a yeast two-hybrid interaction.

        Currently (as of 06.09.2016), Stephanie is a laboratory assistant at the PA Biotechnology Center.
