Jiasen Cheng

Dr. Cheng is from Wuhan, China where he is an Associate Professor in the College of Plant Science and Technology at Huazhong Agricultural University.

Dr. Cheng spent a year in the Devarenne lab on a sabbatical visit from August 2016 to September 2017. He studied substrates of Adi3 that control programmed cell death through phosphorylation events in the nucleus.

After his time in the Devarenne lab Jiasen moved back to Wuhan to continue his position as professor at Huazhong Agricultural University.

    Alejandra Mandujano Chavez

    Dr. Mandujano Chavez is a professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus in Irapuato, Mexico.
    alejandra-mandujano-chavezDr. Mandujano Chavez will be spending a year in the Devarenne lab on a sabbatical visit starting in August 2014. She will be studying aspects of cell cycle control in Botryococcus braunii.

    After her time in the Devarenne lab Alejandra moved back to Irapuato in July 2015 and continued her work as professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey Irapuato Campus.

      Edmundo Lozoya-Gloria

      Dr. Lozoya-Gloria is a professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering at the CINVESTAV Unidad in Irapuato, Mexico and runs the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Plant Natural Products.

      Dr. Lozoya-Gloria will be spending a year in the Devarenne lab on a sabbatical visit starting in August 2014. He will be studying aspects of cell cycle control in Botryococcus braunii.

      After his time in the Devarenne lab Edmundo moved back to Irapuato in July 2015 and continued his work as professor at CINVESTAV.

        Robb Van Putte

        (Fall 2009)

        Robb was a sabbatical visitor in the fall of 2009 from McKendree University in Lebanon, IL. He was here to learn algal moclecular biology and cloned the squalene synthase gene from his favorite green microalga Tetraselmis suecia.

        Currently (as of 06.09.2016), Robb holds the the Harvey C. Pitt and Winifred Ann Pitt Professorship of Biology at McKendree University.
