On March 2, 2020 Devarenne Lab graduate student Incheol Yeo successfully defended his PhD thesis. Incheol’s studies focused on the regulation of Threonine Deaminase 2 during the resistance response of tomato to bacterial pathogens.
On March 5, 2018 Devarenne Lab graduate student Dan Browne successfully defended his PhD thesis. Dan’s research focused on deciphering the genome of B. braunii. Congratulations Dr. Browne.
On February 16, 2018 Devarenne Lab graduate student Dongyin Su successfully defended her PhD thesis. Dongyin’s studies focused on understanding the kinase activity of the SnRK1 complex from tomato. Congratulations Dr. Su!
On Friday, September 15, 2017 the Devarenne Lab had a party at Tim’s house to celebrate the recent successful PhD defense by Mehmet and the say goodbye to Jiasen, who has been on sabbatical in the lab for the last year. Jiasen’s last day in the lab is September 26. At the party we drank Raki, a very popular drink of Turkey, Mehmet’s home country.
Today Devarenne Lab graduate student Mehmet Tatli successfully defended his PhD thesis. Mehmet’s graduate studies focused on studying the ECM of B. braunii, and characterizing B. braunii hydrocarbons by Raman spectroscopy. Congratulations Dr. Tatli!!!
Devarenne Lab graduate student Hem Thapa successfully defended his PhD thesis on June 2, 2017. After the defense we held a party at Tim’s house. The party was a joint party with the Straight lab to celebrate the successful PhD defense of Reed Stubbendieck in May. Reed and Hem are shown in the picture at the party.
