On May 24, 2019 Ivette attended the very first Texas Chemical Biology Conference, which was held on the Texas A&M Campus at the campus hotel and conference center. Ivette’s poster was about her project for a directed evolution analysis on the LOS enzyme from the L race of B. braunii.
Shruthi Joins the lab for the 2019 summer
On June 5, 2019 Shruthi Garla joined the lab as a summer intern. She is a local high school student and will be working on B. braunii hydrocarbon production.
Devon Joins the Lab as Graduate Student
In February, 2019 Devon Boland joined the Devarenne Lab as a new graduate student. Devon is from Illinois and will be working on identifying the reductase genes from the L race of B. braunii needed for production of lycopadiene.
Ivette Joins the Lab as Postdoctoral Researcher
Ivette Cornejo Corona has rejoined the Devarenne Lab as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Her time in the lab is supported by a postdoctoral fellowship from the Méxican science agency CONACYT. She will be working on the reaction mechanism of the B. braunii L race LOS enzyme. Ivette was a previous member of the lab as a visiting graduate student. Welcome back to the lab Ivette.
Devarenne Lab Collaborative Paper in Top 20 Downloads
The paper published by the Devarenne Lab with the lab of Dr. Arum Han about the development and use of a droplet microfluidic screening device for algae has been downloaded over 1,000 times from Plant Direct. This put the study in the top 20 downloaded papers in 2017 from the journal.
